I once went to live in a community that was dedicated to world peace. I was really interested in connecting with the people there but they were all threatened by me because they had their own little "in" group. It got realy bad. They started to say that I was "coming on" to people and I am celibate. I got so pissed off. The real probelm was that I should have respected their nasty attitude from the begining. Like a fool I just thought "Oh they will soon realize that I am not a threat." It did nto work. Once you have been defined in the mind of teh other person everything you do only confirms their paranoia. As soon as you see one of those looks flash at you, keep back. Let them do any approaching after that and keep your guard up. YOu may wish to investigage body language. There is a good site on the psychologist Ekman who stuides ****** expression. I know exactly what you are saying.

Some girls are just shy, angry, b's, spoiled, scared, who knows...maybe PMSing. I have found that people who are nasty are really angry at something that has nothing to do with you. I automatically smile when I make eye contact and some people just look away or stare at me! Is it rude to give a friendly smile or something? The picture doesn't look very right to me but oh well...you did a good thing by smiling and there's nothing you can really do about their attitude towards it...oh, it might also be part of their upbringing. My friend from NY says that people up there don't catch each other's eyes or smile at each other so idk. I totally know what you’re talking about I do that too!
