What does the term “chiquilla horrible” mean in Mexico? Is is more like “naughty girl” or “nasty girl”?
shantimes asked:
I’m trying to understand if connotation is more affectionate- denoting that this girl/woman is somewhat mischievous and fun; or whether it indicates she is a nightmare; or is it usually more sexual?

I think it’s not affectionate at all. I try to picture myself saying this to a girl and I can only think of a negative connotation. I guess the “nightmare” thing would be more accurate. Literally it means “horrible little girl”, but horrible can either mean that she’s very ugly or that her *behavior* is horrible.

Nothing sexual about “chiquilla horrible”. It literally means something like “unbearable, intolerable, horrendous little girl”. BUT, it depends on who is saying that to whom….I would say, if my grandma or my boyfriend calls me “chiquilla horrible”, in a “baby talk” kind of voice, I would take it as a term of endearment, do you know what I mean?
